FIRST CLASS FABRICATOR/WEDLER

Wittenbaker Engineering Services, is a fast growing diverse company which is strategically located in Henderson near the Australian Marine Complex. WES specialises in the manufacture and repair of mining, rail, marine, power generation and oil & gas equipment. WES is looking to expand its work force and is in search of one 1st Class Fabricator/Welder to develop and lead our fabrication sector.

The ideal candidate will have the following Qualifications, Experience and Key features

• Relevant trade qualification
• Minimum 5 years trade experience
• Able to read and interpret complex drawings
• Excellent work ethics
• Excellent understanding of AS 1554 Part 1 to 5
• Follow WPS and pass WPQ
• Understand heat treatment of materials
• Understanding of flame correction
• Understand and apply other preparation requirements
• Ability to use a variety of hand tools and equipment for modification, fabrication and repair
• Must be competent in welding of Steel, Stainless and Aluminium.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• A "can do attitude" and flexible approach in the workplace
• Good communication skills in verbal and writing
• Able to work both unsupervised and as part of a team
• Experience in a jobbing shop environment
• Able to determine the best manufacture process
• Demonstrate safe work practices
• Work fast and efficiently
• Forklift licence desirable
• Own tools
• Reliable transportation
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical including a drug and alcohol screen
• Dogging/Rigging desirable but not essential
• Able to provide at least 2 credible work references
• Reside in Perth

Key Task

• General steel fabrication
• Welding FCAW, GMAW and GTAW
• Carbon Arc Air Gouging
• Fabrication inspection
• Fabrication repair
• Scope of work reports
• Increase fabrication efficiency
• Develop fabrication area
• Read and understand mechanical drawings
• Prioritise work under direction of workshop manager
• Carry out tasks as directed by the workshop manager
• Operate the overhead cranes in a safe manner
• Packing of goods after completion
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace
• Cleaning machines
• Use measuring equipment
• Complete time sheets and job cards according to company standards
• Fill out dimensional check sheets
• Monitor equipment condition and report faults

Remuneration will be based on the applicants experience and ability to perform the work. Normal Workshop hours are from 6:00am till 5:00pm Monday to Friday and 6:00am till 11:00am Saturday if required.

Successful applicants will be expected to work 50hrs per week within the above normal workshop hours.
