Maintenance Officer

We are offering an opportunity for a motivated self-starter with a broad ranging practical skill set, based at our piggery facility located 45kms north of Bendigo, Victoria.
Reporting to the Site Manager, the Maintenance Officer will be responsible for providing onsite maintenance activities, including but not limited to repairs and maintenance of piggery buildings and fittings, feed mill and associated silos and equipment, repairs of stock crates and trailers and grounds maintenance. You will often work autonomously and will be required to prioritise your work activities. Your focus will be on achieving a high standard of quality whilst working safely and efficiently.
The Candidate:
As we are committed to health, safety and wellbeing of our staff and animals, in order to be considered for this role it will be expected that you possess the following:-
Essential
- White Card - (Work safely in the Construction Industry)
- A current drivers licence
- Previous experience desirable
- A good knowledge of building and maintenance practices and standards, including corrective and preventative maintenance programs
- Good communication skills
- An ability to work with live animals
- Strong commitment to work, health and safety
- Prepared to work flexible hours (including some weekends and some public holidays)
Desirable
- Trade qualifications, whilst not essential would be highly regarded
- Experience liaising with tradespersons and contractors
