About the role:
Based out of our Port Melbourne depot, you will be supporting the construction team in the planning and delivery of all aspects of construction projects. Your duties will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Support the construction team in the planning and delivery of all new and existing building activities across Victoria
- Understanding of construction and manufacturing processes.
- Assist in the management of existing assets and special projects.
- Oversee the asset relocation's and electricity connections for all new and existing assets.
- Accountable for the preliminary aspects of a project including detailed site surveys utilizing Adshel issued surveying equipment.
- Carry out progress & final inspections of new works before acceptance of completion and ensure documentation of all site undertakings and inspections data is collated.
- Hold external contractors accountable to costs, service levels, and safety and quality standards by undertaking regular audits of works carried out during builds, taking corrective action where required.
About You:
- Trade background (such as Sheet Metal Worker, Mechanical Fitter and Turner)
- Formal qualifications in Construction, Engineering or similar related disciplines or adequate industry experience
- Current clean Driver’s License
- Rail Industry Worker (RIW) card advantageous
- Understanding of construction and manufacturing processes
- Knowledge of construction and manufacturing materials and finishes.
- Relevant Australian standards in Quality and WHSE.
- Relationship management to build support and service capability of contractors
