The opportunity

James Hardie is on the hunt for Shift Electricians to work a rotating roster (4 on, 4 off) in order to ensure that the electrical systems function at a level that supports the operational team’s requirements for safe, reliable factory processing equipment.

Reporting to the Senior Electrical Manager, the Electricians will be hands-on in executing electrical plans to ensure the ongoing reliability of equipment and machinery at the James Hardie Rosehill Manufacturing Plant. They will be working with electrical and electronic components related to power reticulation, instrumentation, control systems, SCADA systems, HV, PLC programming, Drives, motors, lighting, electrical panels and circuits as well as safety system circuits.

Responsibilities

• Drive a safe behavioural culture and ensure safety compliance for all maintenance tasks.
• Undertake electrical activities to best ensure the long-term reliability of electrical and control systems.
• Assist with day-to-day electrical equipment issues
• Troubleshoot and fault find various issues with electrical equipment onsite in order to shorten or eliminate machine downtime.
• Liaising and working closely with planning and stores personnel to ensure that parts and equipment are available when required to avoid delay and improve task execution.
• Working with production and finishing teams to improve communication and interaction between operators and maintenance / engineering personnel
• Driving continuous improvement in the maintenance department through a commitment to training and development, precision maintenance and a ‘closed loop’ approach.

• Previous experience as an Industrial Electrician
• NSW Electrical Supervisory or Contractors Licence
• Minimum 3+ years' experience in a similar role
• Aptitude for hands-on work coupled with fault-finding and strong problem solving skills
• SAP experience desirable
