Key Responsibilities

In order to help Cochlear bring new products to market that help people with hearing loss, we are recruiting for a Maintenance & Calibration Technician in our Manufacturing Engineering department.

To be successful in this role you’ll be able to perform maintenance and calibration activities on manufacturing equipment in line with business quality systems and regulatory requirements. You’ll work collaboratively within the Maintenance and Calibration team and with cross-functional teams from across the business to ensure production requirements are met in an effective and timely manner. This technical role is responsible for undertaking maintenance and calibration of manufacturing equipment in accordance with Cochlear’s Quality System.

In this full-time, fixed-term role you'll have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to Cochlear's successful history of innovation by applying your knowledge of maintenance and calibration. You'll know you've been successful in this role when you've assisted the department to meet business requirements and improve deliverables.


Key Requirements

To add value to Cochlear in this role you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience in your application and at interview:

 

  • Licensed Electrician with a strong mechanical aptitude or Dual Trade Qualified
  • Analytical and methodical approach to fault finding and problem solving
  • Self-directed in developing a thorough understanding of site plant & equipment.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and take accountability for results
  • Proven ability to instil trust with key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated contribution of ideas to systems and process improvements
  • Strong track record of effective collaboration across teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including reporting on daily metrics
  • Intermediate computer skills

 

Ideal but not essential:

 

  • Experience in a medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
  • 4+ years’ experience in a LEAN manufacturing operations environment
