HVTC Illawarra in conjunction with Host Employer DN Group Pty Ltd, is seeking applicants for a 1st or 2nd Year Heavy Vehicle Apprenticeship.

HVTC Illawarra is an expert in the employment and training of apprentices and trainees and we are well equipped to support the regions diverse range of industry.

In this role, you will learn all aspects of the Automotive- Heavy Vehicle trade on the job while also completing a Certificate III in Automotive - Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology.

Duties

During your apprenticeship you will undertake varied duties which may include, but not limited to;

• Mechanical maintenance tasks on a diverse range of heavy vehicles
• Diagnosis of complex electrical, hydraulic and pneumatics systems
• General repairs- brakes, suspension, engine and drive train

Selection Criteria:

• Eligiblity to complete a Certificate III in Automotive - Heavy Commerical Vehicle Mechanical Technology
• Ability to diagnose and rectify mechanical principles
• Commitment to safety, quality and principles of continuous improvement
• Willingness to work overtime as required 
• Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrate willingness to learn and develop own skills and knowledge
• Willingness to complete a pre-employment medical 
• WHS Construction White Card
• Drivers license (Provisional acceptable)

Desirable 

• Access to reliable transport
• Work experience in any area/s relevant to the apprenticeship
• Completed an Automotive Pre-apprenticeship Course
