We currently have a fantastic position available for an experienced Grounds and Maintenance Utility looking to expand their career. Within this role your daily responsibilities will be collecting rubbish, room and general building cleaning, maintaining the mining village grounds, performing yard work and assisting in establishing gardens and general landscaping along with providing support to the site cleaning staff.
This position operates on a 14 days on 7 days off roster, 10 hour shifts; region of Central Queensland at Rolleston Villiage.
Key Duties
- Maintain and enhance site grounds and garden. This will include; turf management, tree and shrub maintenance, mowing, weed control and watering the grounds. It will also provide proactive maintenance to structures and services
- Respond to service requests for building maintenance including furniture relocation and conference room set up
- Specialised cleaning where required
- Operate and maintain equipment and machinery, as required
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties within capabilities as required by Supervisor or Manager
The Person
- General maintenance experience / trade background
- Grounds and horticulture awareness (Certificate II in Horticulture ideal)
- Competent in operating general maintenance/grounds equipment and chemical handling
- String customer service focus
- Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
- Able to work efficiently under pressure
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Valid and current driving licence
Knowledge and experience of general maintenance / grounds maintenance in mining villages or hotel style accommodation would be highly advantageous.
