Hume Doors & Timber (QLD) Pty Ltd is Australia's leading Door Manufacturer and Timber Wholesaler. The company is 100% Australian owned and markets its products to the hardware, timber and building industries.
We are looking to employ a skilled MAINTENANCE FITTER who is motivated and reliable to join our Maintenance Department. The position is available at our manufacturing site in Kingston, Logan City.
The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities (but not limited to):
- To ensure maximum equipment uptime is achieved by providing effective and efficient mechanical preventative and breakdown maintenance.
- Engage in making, fitting or repairing mechanical machines, instruments or appliances to ensure equipment and facilities are in optimum condition for their intended use.
- Ensure that all mechanical work is carried out to meet the Company safety and housekeeping requirements and conforms to all relevant regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to identify faults through the use of fault finding techniques with the ability to troubleshoot and rectify problems.
- Other responsibilities that may come up from time to time.
Key Criteria to be successful in this position:
- Applicants will require experience in a fast paced industrial manufacturing environment.
- You will possess excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated continuous improvement approach and ability to support a broad variety of mechanical work.
- Candidates will require a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, with a dedicated approach to work and ability to communicate at all levels.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
A forklift licence and welding/fabrication skills are not necessary but would be advantageous.
This role will work in conjunction with a team of 4 Mechanical Fitters and also work closely with the Factory Supervision and Management team.
