Earlyrise Baking Co is a fourth generation, locally owned and operated wholesale bakery based in Dubbo, NSW. The Role

As an apprentice you will learn all aspects of baking from creating doughs and running the mixers to using the ovens and producing and finishing all products for distribution that same day.

You will be actively involved in a team responsible for preparing sheet pastry, shortbread, pie fillings, bread doughs and operating bakery equipment such as ovens, mincer, refrigeration units and various mixers, with the aim of producing high quality pie and bread products on a daily basis

Your positive attitude and hard work will be applied to a minimum 38 hour week on a rotating 7 day roster with some weekend work required. Hours are primarily day or afternoon shift. All shift and overtime penalty rates are applied as required under our Award.

No previous experience is necessary as all training is provided. The role is suited to school leavers/juniors and is paid at award based Apprenticeship rates.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working within a team to ensure a high standard of quality products
  • A commitment to learning and taking instruction and feedback from your team
  • Excellent organisational, teamwork and communication skills to ensure product is delivered on time to meet customer demands
  • Achieving a high standard of cleanliness and safety
  • Supporting other team members and fostering good working relationships
  • Completion of a Certificate 3 Retail Baking through TAFE. No travel is required

To be considered for an Apprenticeship, you will need to have

  • A positive attitude towards teamwork and learning
  • Good maths and English skills to ensure you are able to read and interpret recipes, measure ingredients and record information
  • The ability to communicate effectively
  • Fitness and stamina including the ability to lift heavy items and work on repetitive tasks
  • Availability to work on a rotating roster, including weekends
