This position requires a combination of technical knowledge, installation experience, reporting, and client relationship skills. An exciting opportunity for AV technicians looking for a career path in one of the most respected companies in the technical services industry – additional training will be provided to the right applicant.

Duties:

The AV Technician is responsible for the following duties:-

  • Provide customer technical support on Audio Visual Systems
  • Provide customer training when required on Audio Visual Systems
  • Provide onsite service maintenance and fault finding
  • Attend and document site audits to assist the service and sales teams
  • Project site coordination
  • Installation of cabling and integrated AV systems
  • End user training on AV systems
  • Other duties where required

Skills and Experience

The AV Technician will require the following skills and competencies:

  • Operating knowledge and ability to troubleshoot and maintain audio visual hardware, software and systems
  • Open cabling license
  • Hold a current Australian drivers licence
  • Experience with the Microsoft office software
  • Demonstrate an intermediate technical understanding of: Control systems (AMX/Crestron), AV switchers, routers, scalers, audio reinforcement equipment and other associated AV peripheral devices
  • Ability to operate, troubleshoot and maintain videoconferencing equipment and systems
  • Ability to interpret and follow AV system drawings in order to troubleshoot & resolve issues
  • Be well presented as this is a customer facing role
  • Ability to build rapport with customers both written and verbal
  • Ability to identify potential sales or upgrades to pass onto the sales team
  • Able to travel and stay for short periods interstate if required
  • Able to provide short term resident technical assistance as/when required
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Have attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
