We are currently seeking experienced and trade qualified Heavy Vehicle / light vehicle Mechanics to work out of a workshop in Moorebank in Sydney for a large multi national company that holds the defence contract for servicing all of the defence vehicles large and small. Joining a well established team with a brand new state of the art workshop, this is a brilliant opportunity to get a foot in the door with a company that takes a lot of pride in their work, team and safety record.

Working hours 38 hours per week and are 7am - 3.45pm Monday - Thursday and 7am-12pm Friday with no weekend work! This role starts out on a casual basis and will lead to permanency after 3 months for the right candidates provided you are reliable, hard working and a good fit for the team. Pay is $35 per hour, with little to no overtime required.

What you can expect daily:

•You will conduct maintenance tasks including inspection, classification, diagnostics and repairs on Heavy and Armoured Vehicles for a Defence contract

•Works to be carried out on a wide range of vehicles from Land Rovers to large Mack trucks

•Carry out service tasks on equipment during routine maintenance

•Replace or repair damaged and malfunctioning parts following inspection

•Effectively diagnose problems and perform work of a technical nature on a wide range of vehicles

•Adhere to all regulatory and contract specific requirements and work as part of a team

Skills and Experience:

•Be a trade qualified Heavy/ light Vehicle Mechanic.

•Must have or willing to get an AFP check

•We will also look at candidates who have their Light Vehicle qualification and are willing to obtain their Heavy Vehicle certification

•Hold a current Australian State or Territory open driver's licence for Medium Rigid (MR) (preferred)

•You must be an Australian citizen and able to maintain a Department of Defence Security Clearance but if you are currently in the process of becoming an Australian citizen and can prove that then you may also be considered.
