Our Client is a major International Blue-Chip Engineering company and are currently looking to appoint a Mechanical Fitter and specialist in Gearbox maintenance/repair and over-haul. This position is being offered on a temporary basis with the potential for on-going and permanent work. You will be supporting and working in a highly advanced Engineering team utilising the most advanced Engineering technologies and practices available.
The main duties will include:
- Mechanical fitting duties mainly on gearboxes and associated heavy Industrial equipment
- Over-haul/maintenance and repair of heavy machinery gearboxes
- Stripping, tagging, inspecting and cleaning of mechanical parts
- Writing technical reports/recommendations
- Work to product tolerances and specifications
- General workshop Mechanical Fitting and Repair work
- Report any defects to Supervisor/Management
- Perform operational test on reconditioned/overhauled units
- Work to company safety standards, policies and procedures
To be considered for this position you must have the following:
- Trades qualified Mechanical Fitter with experience in the servicing/repair and over-haul of heavy machinery gearboxes and Industrial equipment
- Previous experience in the mechanical maintenance and repair of heavy Industrial/Mining machinery
- Familiar with working to project time-frames/deadlines
- Familiar with working to the highest of safety standards, policies and procedures
- You must be prepared to undergo a full medical including Drug and Alcohol test
