We also have a specialised welding division Callidus Welding Solutions.

Fitter/Machinist 

Callidus is seeking a experienced Fitter/Machinist for work in the South Australian region. You will be based in our metropolitan  Adelaide workshop (or other locations as necessary). Please note on occasion, as a part of this role you will be required to work on remote sites. 

Responsibilities and Duties will include:

  • Repair, and test and certify general  and control valves and their associated components in both a workshop and site environment;
  • Repair, test and certify Pressure Relief devices (i.e. PSV, Rupture Disk etc.) in both a workshop and site environment;
  • Manual Machining duties 
  • Mechanical Fitting Duties;
  • Close tolerance fitting;
  • Sketching and dimensional assessment;
  • QA/QC duties.

Ideally the successful applicant will have:

  • Fitting/Machining trade or a Similar Mechanical Field (dual trade would be advantageous i.e. fitter/instrument or fitter/electrical) ;
  • Substantial experience in the repair and maintenance of Valves is preferred for this role.
  • Recent previous experience in the Oil and Gas Sector would be highly regarded;
  • Sound understanding of job safety analysis (JSA) principles/ Stepback/ Take 5 and good reporting skills through the use of work packs and other forms of documentation;
  • Candidate must have a positive attitude, be punctual and reliable;
  • Flexible with work hours and willing to work overtime when required;
  • Dogman qualifications;
  • Forklift license;
  • Truck licence.
