About ANSTO

The Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) is home to Australia’s nuclear science and technical expertise. More than 1000 scientists, engineers and experts work at ANSTO and use nuclear science and technology to answer the big questions in the world around us – improving health outcomes, increasing our understanding of the environment and climate change and identifying new opportunities for Australian industry.

We operate much of our country’s landmark science facilities including one of the world’s most modern nuclear research reactors (OPAL). Importantly, ANSTO is helping to improve our health with one in two Australians benefitting from the nuclear medicines produced using the OPAL research reactor while being treated for serious illnesses such as heart disease and cancer.

About the position

With over 80 building on the Lucas Heights Campus alone – The Asset Management and Services Group has the complex task of juggling programmed maintenance along with ad-hoc corrective works and facilities upgrades. Our team of Planners work in conjunction with their Supervisor peers to ensure that our time and resources are deployed in the safest and most effective way.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be assessing requests, and then scoping, prioritising and allocating internal and external work requests. You will also be responsible for managing minor capital works projects related to facilities upgrades within the Asset Management space.

“I’m looking for people with a broad skill set – you might be scheduling electrical repairs one minute and then assessing fire systems or grounds maintenance requests the next, whilst planning an upgrade to one of our reticulated system, then reviewing the cleaning contract. This is a fast paced environment with lots of competing demands – we need someone who can really get in there, be creative in their problem solving, provide quick solutions to complex issues and who thrives when there is a lot going on.”
