About the Role
An opportunity has a risen for an experienced and qualified mechanic to join our team, who are based at Tullamarine, not far from Melbourne Airport. You will be working for and with one our key clients, and will be responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of all equipment. You will also ensure that faults, repairs, scheduled and unscheduled are carried out in a safe and efficient manner. This is a challenging, yet rewarding role as you will be a key member of a small team who take pride in their work.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Ensure that materials handling systems is operational and issues are rectified safely, quickly and efficiently.
- Day to day maintenance of automated equipment.
- Carry out scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
- Troubleshoot when issues arise.
- Ensure that documents, checklists or reports are filled in accurately and are filed in the correct place.
- Liaise on a daily basis with our client and key stakeholders in a professional manner.
- Any of duties as directed by the manager.
About You
- Current experience as a Mechanic, within in an automated Freight Handling System or logistics industry is essential.
- Skills in conveyor belt maintenance would be highly desirable.
- Skills and knowledge in ASi-Bus, Profibus, Scadaand PLC's highly desirable
- Proven skills in repairing faults, repairs and renewal of complex automated systems.
- Proven skills in ensuring documentation, checks lists, and associated records are maintained and accurate.
- Good verbal and written communications.
- Good Computer Skills with MS Suite of products.
- Able to work in small crews or as an individual
Other information
- Certifications as a Registered Mechanic is essential.
- Able to work shift work.
- On-site parking.
- Medical and Police checks are required and must be clear prior to commencement.
