We are currently seeking motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the team as a Shift Fitter based at Orora Glass in Gawler. Reporting to the IS Maintenance Supervisor / Mould Room Supervisor, the successful candidate will rotate responsibilities between the Mould Room and IS Maintenance Team
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
IS Maintenance
- Inspect, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot and repair all equipment as required
- Respond to breakdowns
- Make adjustments to ensure smooth operation of equipment and machinery
- Log information as required
- Maintain plant spares where required
- Repair plant equipment as required
- Report all items that cause machinery to perform under standard and record all machine anomalies to the engineering department
- Participate in a shift hand over prior to finishing work to ensure oncoming shift is aware of all relevant information
- Assist the engineering team where required
- Preventative maintenance tasks
Mould Room
- Repair and maintain mould gear to specification
- Cleaning and inspection of mould gear.
- Prepare/retrieve mould gear for storage/production
- Prepare gear for job changes and assist with job changes if required
- Prepare trials and modifications
Essential selection criteria relative to the position includes:
- Trade Qualification – Maintenance Fitter
- Proven attention to detail.
- Ability to manage changing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills
- A demonstrated ability to follow standardised process and work systematically.
- Capacity to work autonomously.
In conjunction with the above, the successful applicant will posses strong communication skills, have a high level of initiative and a ‘can do’ attitude. Being able to work as part of a team as well as independently is imperative as is experience within a maintenance team environment. The successful candidate must also hold a Fitter and Machinist trade qualification.
