About the Role
You will be working Monday to Friday, and possibly some weekend work on a rotation shift with a minimum of 38 hours per week. Above award conditions apply.
As an Electrical Apprentice you will be required to complete a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician at Tafe.
Your roles and responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Apply Occupational Health and Safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace
- Fabricate, assemble and dismantle utilities industry components
- Solve problems in low voltage a.c. circuits & d.c. circuits
- Fix and secure electrotechnology equipment
- Use drawings, diagrams, schedules, standards, codes and specifications
- Solve problems in single and three phase low voltage machines & electrical apparatus and circuits
- Arrange circuits, control and protection for general electrical installations
- Solve problems in electromagnetic devices and related circuits
- Install low voltage wiring and accessories
- Install appliances, switchgear and associated accessories for low voltage electrical installations
- Verify compliance and functionality of low voltage general electrical installations
- Terminate cables, cords and accessories for low voltage circuits
- Select wiring systems and cables for low voltage general electrical installations
- Trouble-shoot and repair faults in low voltage electrical apparatus and circuits
- Develop and connect electrical control circuits
- Provide quotations for installation or service jobs
- Diagnose and rectify faults in d.c. electrical apparatus and circuits
About You
The person we're looking for is enthusiastic, hardworking and reliable. You must hold a current car or bike license and have your own vehicle. But most of all we are looking for candidates that are currently completing or have the passion to complete a 4 year apprenticeship.
