Urban Maintenance Systems Pty Ltd (UMS) provides building and facilities maintenance management services to Federal, State and Local Government and Private sector organisations throughout Australia.

We are looking for a Contract Manager to manage our City of Sydney Graffiti Management and Public Art Basic Maintenance contract. You will be based in Chippendale, working in the Sydney LGA.

Your responsibilities will be to deliver the contract to the satisfaction of the customer, while enhancing the profitability and efficiency of UMS service delivery within this contract, managing day to day contract operations, and the provision of strong leadership and motivation to your team.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Managing a diverse team of internal and casual staff to deliver the service in a safe and efficient manner
  • Maintaining an excellent relationship between UMS and our customer
  • Developing and monitoring budgets
  • Developing, planning, scheduling and assessing works programs
  • Provide strong leadership, motivation and direction to all staff reporting to the role
  • Managing the delivery of the services safely, efficiently and effectively
  • Structuring the delivery of the contract to achieve the strategic goal of both UMS and our customer

The successful candidate will have;

  • Relevant experience in successfully managing contracts in market sectors such as building, property or facilities management, and asset / contract management, or project management.
  • Previous Management experience; managing a team of white collar and blue-collar workers along with subcontractors.
  • Account Management experience; successfully managing contract budgets and project timelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; establish and maintain close, value added relationships with our customers, staff and sub-contractors.
  • Effectively negotiate with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Focus on Customer service and customer satisfaction; ensuring customer relationships are further enhanced through a focus on service delivery.
