Handyman with carpentry background needed!


Are you an experienced handyman with a Police Check or WWCC and a background in carpentry looking for a permanent position?


There are a number of very exciting opportunities for Handymen to utilize their carpentry skills on a day to day basis within Aged care and Healthcare facilities in the Western, Northern and Eastern suburbs.
Your duties will include identifying and carrying out general building and grounds maintenance (painting, patching, basic carpentry and plumbing, replacing light bulbs, gardening)
along with various other duties such as event set-up, moving furniture, helping with deliveries and dealing with ad-hoc requests from staff. You will be required to work as a member of a team as well as using initiative to work independently where required.


You will be responsible for the repair and maintain the facility and demonstrate a can do easy approach to problem solving on the daily. You will be required to undertake the following however not limited to:


• Patch & Paint
• Changing door locks
• Repairing damaged fixtures
• Furniture removal
• Changing lights
• Basic carpentry
• Basic plumbing
• Other ad hoc duties.


What you'll need to succeed
You must be able to work as part of a team and have strong communication skills. You must have a positive, can-do attitude along with good interpersonal skills. Experience in similar role and a carpentry trade qualification will be highly regarded. This role is for people looking to start their career in maintenance at a within the Aged care and Healthcare facilities.


• Current Police Check
• White card
• Current Victorian driver’s license.
• Working knowledge of Work Health and Safety standards and regulatory maintenance frameworks relating to residential aged care.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Previous experience within Aged Care / Hospital environment or similar
