Our Sydney Branch is currently seeking a Machinist and Fitter to join our busy Wetherill Park Service Team.

This role focuses on the repair and refurbishment of a wide range of hydraulic cylinders. Each cylinder must be disassembled, inspected and the required repairs carried out prior to reassembly and testing. Many of these repairs require the manufacture of new components including rods, gland, pistons and barrels. Many of these items are custom, or one-off items and are manufactured on traditional manual lathes and milling machines. We are looking for a fitter and machinist willing to undertake both the fitting and machining works as required.

To be considered for this role you must have

  • Relevant Trade qualifications
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, measuring equipment & documentation
  • Experience operating manual lathes for internal and external thread cutting is essential
  • Experienced working to fine tolerances
  • Experience working with milling machinery
  • Experience using common hand and power tools
  • Previous Experience working within the hydraulics industry is not essential but will be highly regarded
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work with others
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical
  • Training will be provided on the assessment and tolerance requirements of hydraulic cylinders
