Service Manager – Goldfields

We currently have an excellent opportunity available to be part of the success of the AUS Mechanical Services business throughout Western Australia. Reporting to the Network Performance Manager, this role will see you responsible for the first point of contact with customers for the AUS Mechanical Services business unit in the Kalgoorlie branch which is located at the Kalgoorlie airport. This role could be a great opportunity for a competent Service Advisor who is wanting to take the next steps in their career.

The Service Manager is responsible for delivering company business objectives through demonstrated and effective leadership and management of AUS Mechanical Services. This includes finding the right balance between the rental fleet related mechanical work where we aim to improve fleet reliability and company image, whilst keeping costs to a minimum and retail AUS Mechanical Services where we offer retail services to private and commercial client fleets.

An important component of the role is to build and develop the retail component of AUS Mechanical Services, offering mechanical services to the existing client database of the AUS Fleet Solutions Group as well as being able to identify, scope, probe and establish strong relationships with new customers for ongoing opportunities as required for a start-up business as we establish ourselves as a reputable supplier in the Goldfields marketplace.

In this role you will be overseeing the AUS Mechanical Services operation in Kalgoorlie ensuring daily workshop planning and flow is under control, quality control, liaising between sales, workshop and customer, looking after the workshop, managing stock, vehicle hand over, quotes, and at times assisting in the workshop on urgent matters. You will also be the “go to person” that workshop staff come to when issues arise. 

The successful candidate will also possess the following:

• Previous experience in mechanical automotive workshop environments including servicing, tyres, windscreens and general automotive requirements
• Capability and confidence to carry out new business development opportunities 
• Ability to up sell and cross sell different products
• Mechanical trade qualifications would be advantageous 
• Demonstrated sound knowledge of mechanical workshop practices such as customer service, sales, job cards, receipts, payments and stock inventory control
• Strong mechanical / technical knowledge to diagnose faults / issues with vehicles
• Demonstrated understanding, strength and passion in leading, developing and coaching teams
• Exposure in process management and continuous improvement initiatives

A MR or HR vehicle licence would be highly regarded as there will be times where driving of heavy vehicles may be required. The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years' experience in working in a workshop environment.
