About the business and the role:

Regional Contractors is a local company operating in and around the Ballarat Region. We provide Hire, Transport and Mechanical Repairs/Servicing on a broad range of vehicles within the commercial and hire industry particularly in lifting and earthmoving equipment. We are experiencing continual growth and expansion within our organisation and are looking for motivated individuals to join our mechanical and servicing team. We have a vacancy for a key position of Field Service Mechanic for the right person who wishes a challenge, steady and career approach to their work life.  

Some Duties and Responsibilities will include:

• Manage the maintenance and servicing schedule of equipment, including maintaining service records.
• Provide workshop and field support for breakdowns, servicing and repairs
• Provide fault finding and diagnosis of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults across a large variety of equipment and carry out repairs.
• Follow our OH&S policies

To be successful in this role you will need:

• A trade certificate or higher qualification in the mechanical engineering trade.
• Alternatively, extensive mechanical experience with an Auto Electrical Trade for example would be equally regarded.
• Australian manual drivers licence, preferably HR or equivalent. Forklift licence would be an advantage.
• Good knowledge lifting equipment would be favourably regarded, but not essential.
• Demonstrated ability to inspect, report, repair and maintain heavy vehicles, plant and equipment.
• Have a high standard of workmanship whilst continuing to meet planned and urgent breakdown deadlines.
• To adhere to our OH&S policies and procedures
• Be a team player who is self-motivated with a can do attitude.
