We are seeking an experienced Horizontal Directional Driller to take charge of a drill team in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne.
Working Mon-Fri, 7am-3:30pm, you will be responsible for the training and development of a second team of drillers for our ever-growing client.
With strong previous experience as a Horizontal Directional Driller, you will be working with local water authorities on existing residential sites. Taking pride in your work, you will be drilling discharge lines using Vermeer Horizontal Drills.
Client Details
Our client has been a leading name in Pressure Sewer Systems since the early 2000's. Recent growth and demand has seen the need to expand, with a second drill-team on the way.
Located in the Eastern Suburbs, you will start and finish your day on-site, with occasional overtime as required.
Description
Your duties in this role will include:
- Operating Vermeer Horizontal Drills (D-9x13 & D-20x22)
- Driving Heavy Trucks
- Excavation and Drilling on existing residential sites
- Clean workmanship, taking pride in the work being done
- Reading plans
- Being OH&S conscious
- Training of other members within the team
- Drilling discharge lines
In addition to the above, you will safety conscious, and carry out your own work with a high standard and with due care, attention and cleanliness.
Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of two years of experience as a Horizontal Directional Driller
- Experience with Vermeer (D-9x13 & D-20x22) Horizontal Drills would be ideal
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- The ability to lead and train other members within a team
- Solid written and verbal skills
- Effective planning, organisational and problem solving skills
- Sound knowledge of HDD Operations
- Knowledge of Drill Head Trenching
- Experience with a variety of ground conditions (e.g. rock)
- Experience with difficult drill set ups
- Experience in drill fluid mixing, along with vacuum excavation works and service proving
- High level of initiative and dependability
