We are currently seeking a qualified Motor Mechanic or Diesel Fitter in the position of Ancillary Equipment Maintainer, to join the largest specialist team in Australia with a key role of managing servicing and maintenance of our onsite ancillary equipment. The position will be a field service role based in the Hunter Valley region.

Reporting to the Divisional Manager, the key responsibilities of this position are:

  1. Undertake appropriate measures to ensure all service and maintenance records are maintained
  2. Undertake scheduled maintenance and repairs of the Southern Cross Group ancillary equipment
  3. Ensure all work carried out is undertaken thoroughly in a safe and efficient manner and one that is of the highest standard
  4. Carry out ancillary servicing and maintenance as per applicable schedules
  5. Work with departmental and interdepartmental staff in a pleasant and constructive manner
  6. Source and order spare parts and maintain appropriate records as required to ensure smooth work flow of scheduled servicing and maintenance
  7. Ensure and promote a safe work culture
  8. Maintain a high level of housekeeping

The Key skills required for this role include:

To be a trade qualified Motor Mechanic or Diesel Fitter/Plant Mechanic

MUST hold Mechanical, Diesel, Auto Electrical and Hydraulic Trade Applicable Tafe Competencies as a site requirement

Current "LR or MR" class licence or be willing to obtain

High level of communication skills

Ability to interpret spare parts catalogues and workshop manuals

Prior experience in a similar role

Safe work ethic and attitude

Good organisational and communication skills

A common sense approach to problem solving

Willingness to improve, add and share knowledge

Fit into a small team that forms part of a much larger team

Ability to work unsupervised and show initiative

Willingness to advance improvement initiatives

A want to get in and do the job without fuss
