Clare (Qld) Location – Full Time
SunWater is Queensland’s largest bulk water service provider, owning, operating and developing bulk water supply infrastructure. SunWater is currently supplying 40 percent of all water used commercially in Queensland.
The Senior Operator Maintainer – Civil will support The Maintenance Works Coordinator to deliver efficient and sustainable water services to irrigation, industrial and urban customers across North Queensland. The Senior Operator Maintainer – Civil will be responsible for leading the Civil infrastructure functions of the business through the planning, resourcing of staff and contractors to deliver the infrastructure maintenance program across the region. They will also be tasked with supporting the program delivery team to deliver non-routine works program.

Key Accountabilities:
- Prioritising, scheduling, coordinating and carrying out work to optimise the use of allocated resources to provide timely and cost-effective services, and compliance with client requirements
- Reviewing and assessing the performance and standard of the work of subordinate staff, and addressing performance issues including training and development of staff
- Undertaking or co-ordinating fault-finding and problem resolution in relation to equipment breakdown/malfunction, analysing and resolving operational problems, and ensuring that supply interruptions resulting from equipment breakdowns/failures are minimised
- Monitoring work practices to ensure compliance with all Business Management System (BMS) requirements, including quality, WH&S and environmental management requirements
- Carrying out or ensuring that all administrative work associated with the team's activities is completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance of water supply infrastructure is undertaken in a timely manner to ensure minimal supply interruptions
- Meters (including external contracts) are installed, read and serviced as per specifications and contracts
Qualifications
Essential:
- Ability to operate or to rapidly acquire the knowledge and skills to operate, pump stations, water storages and distribution networks associated with bulk water supply to industrial customers
- Ability to carry out civil and minor mechanical maintenance and construction work relating to a broad range of infrastructure assets
- Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to effectively carry out routine administrative tasks, including the basic operation of relevant computer software programs
- Class ‘C’ manual driver’s licence
Desirable
- Possession of relevant trade certificate would be highly regarded
