Burdekin (Qld) Location – Full Time
SunWater is Queensland’s largest bulk water service provider, owning, operating and developing bulk water supply infrastructure. SunWater is currently supplying 40 percent of all water used commercially in Queensland.
The Operator Maintainer (support) position is based at Burdekin in Queensland. The Operator Maintainer is responsible to ensure surveillance and Routine work is completed as per the Work Instructions and accountable for operations during flood events as per Emergency Action Plans.
The role offers the successful person the opportunity to expand their knowledge within the Bulk Water supply industry and develop their career as a valuable team member of the business.
Key Accountabilities:
- Undertake routine operation and surveillance activities in accordance with SunWater procedures
- Undertake flood and emergency operations as required
- Undertake meter reading and maintenance activities
- Construct minor civil works and installing water service delivery infrastructure
- Undertake preventive, corrective, emergency maintenance and renewals work
- Supervise Contactors and Plant to complete work and maintenance tasks
Essential:
- Class ‘C’ driver’s licence for manual vehicle
- A level of physical fitness to work in confined spaces and maintain competency in confined space and rescue
- Operators must be physically fit to perform the manual task requirements of the position, be able to swim, and work in confined spaces
Desirable:
- Possession of a relevant trade certificate would be highly regarded
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain, Certificate III in Water Operations and Dam safety training
- Boat Licence
- SAP experience/knowledge
