Maintenance Electrician
 

Austco Polar Cold Storage is a large frozen warehouse providing blast freezing and warehousing services for our many clients. We are based in Melbourne’s Western suburbs (Laverton North) and we are looking for an experienced maintenance electrician.

Your new role
As a Maintenance Electrician you will be working largely autonomously, reporting to the Process and Electrical Engineer and be responsible for;

·        Preventative and reactive maintenance, installation and commissioning of new equipment.

·        Fault finding, repairs and being involved in special installation projects

·        Monitoring and troubleshooting of PLCs, diagnosing the root cause of problems

·        Sourcing parts, accessories and components

·        Coordination and liaising with contractors and other staff

·        Project work as required

The role is primarily based at out Laverton North site in Melbourne but you will be required to travel as per the business requirements to our Raywood and Epsom (Bendigo) sites.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role you will have extensive experience as an Electrician working in a manufacturing or warehousing environment, ideally with experience of refrigeration and freezer equipment;

·        A-grade license and experience as a Maintenance Electrician.

·        Understanding of refrigeration systems desirable.

·        Experience with PLCs.

·        Experienced working within a manufacturing environment.

·        Hands on approach and able to work autonomously and as part of a team

·        Good verbal and written communications skills

·        Ability to read electrical schematics and have a good understanding of electrical and wiring diagrams.
