Horticulturist / Gardener
Eugene Gilligan Garden Design has been involved in the design, establishment and enhancement of many of Melbourne's finest gardens since 1986. Due to continuing growth we are currently seeking a qualified and experienced horticulturalist/gardener. EG horticulture specialises in the maintenance and soft landscaping of our gardens throughout Melbourne and country Victoria.
The role:
EG horticulture offers a service to a wide range of residential clients, which makes this an interesting and varied role. In addition to care of lawns and garden beds, you would be responsible for soil and plant health, specialist pruning, hedging, irrigation, maintenance of water features and garden lighting. The Horticultural Division also carries out the soft landscaping works for Eugene Gilligan Garden Design projects.
About you:
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Minimum 3 yrs experience in garden maintenance services; or a recent qualification in horticulture. Graduates will be considered for this position.
- Demonstrated experience in lawn care, perennials, shrubs, trees, pruning and hedging
- Management of soil health, weeds, pests and diseases
- Soft landscaping - garden bed preparation, plant set out and planting
- Safe use of hand and power tools
- Good teamwork and interpersonal skills, with a friendly, positive attitude
- Hard working, reliable, punctual
- Professional appearance and presentation
- Current drivers licence
- Based within reasonable travelling distance of our base in Cremorne
- Australian citizens and Permanent Residents only
Package:
You will be required to work a 40 hr week. Starting ongoing casual rate will be 31.00 per hr plus superannuation. Salary to be reviewed after 3 months trial period.
