Opportunity to work with a leading EWP business, based in Brisbane, QLD. This position reports directly to Operations Manager, and offers a great opportunity for a highly rewarding career in a fast-growing business. This is a fulltime position and looking for an immediate start. We have a 100% non-smoking work environment. This position may require working after hours occasionally.

Your primary role as the workshop mechanic/ fitter/ operator is to ensure all repairs and maintenance are carried out in a safe and effective manner, whilst having the ability to operate machinery when required. Control and understand all relevant technical manuals and information. Ensure Work Health & Safety legislation is adhered to at all times. Safe operation of machinery and good communication skills with customers. Continued support to the business with repairs and maintenance on all business units as required.

Relevant Skills

  • To be trade qualified as Mechanic /Fitter
  • Proven track record of repairs and maintenance on Travel Towers
  • Experience working ability on Travel tower and Underbridge Units preferred
  • Ability to perform tasks upon request  
  • EWP licence preferred
  • Strong safety ethic
  • Forklift Licence preferred
  • HR Licence preferred

Workshop Environment

  • Ensuring the health and wellbeing of team members within the workshop environment
  • Ability to maintain documentation relevant to servicing, repairs and Major Inspections
  • To oversee training on workshop apprentices where required
  • Show the ability to cross train in different machinery types

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnosis of Travel Towers and general diesel Equipment
  • Carry out general Engineering Functions within the workshop
  • Testing of machinery before, during and after repairs, maintenance and rebuilds
  • Carry out Major Inspections on machinery as required by the business
  • Parts replacement as required when servicing or repairing machines and/ or hydraulic equipment
  • Ensure cleanliness of workshop environment and carry out general maintenance
  • Have the ability to attend off-site repairs and break-downs as required by the business
  • Deal with customers in a respectful and professional manner
  • Operate travel towers and Underbridge Units in a safe environment

Accountabilities

  • Completion of company projects on time and within budget restraints
  • Communicate well at all levels, especially with customers and within the Company
  • Be able to interpret, apply and adhere to OH&S material in the workplace
  • Support and maintain company performance, quality policy and objectives
  • Attend to all ad hoc requirements that relates to machinery and the workshop
  • Ensure a safe, clean and tidy workshop environment at start and end of each day
  • Upkeep all required documentation, records and systems that are relevant to the position
  • Review and support with input to the company for continuous improvement
  • Safe operation of Travel Towers and Underbridge units.
