Summary of the Maintenance Officer role:

• Ensuring all emergency, preventative and legislative maintenance is carried out in compliance with all State and Regulatory requirements
• Understanding how to procure maintenance services and equipment in a cost effective manner
• Inducting, co-ordinate and overseeing contractors safely working at the facility for repairs and maintenance
• Supervision of other related staff such as the site gardener
• Thoroughly understanding all facility services and mains i.e. gas, water and power mains and how to isolate
• Provide a safe, clean, quality home that promotes person centred care
• Demonstrate an ability to learn and continuously improve all maintenance operations at the facility

Essential Qualifications and skills:

• Previous Maintenance experience in Facilities or Accommodation setting
• Thorough understanding of all legislative requirements pertaining to Maintenance and Repairs i.e. OH&S & Fire/Evacuation
• Trade Qualification is desirable 
• Proven supervisory experience in recent employment history 
• Highly developed customer service skills
• Highly developed written and verbal skills
• Knowledge of Aged Care industry is desirable
