Centrally located within the Melbourne CBD, The Swanston Hotel is the perfect location for corporate stays and family holidays. Working amongst the hustle and bustle of the city creates for a vibrant and dynamic workplace, were no two days are the same.
We are currently seeking 2 Maintenance Technician's (Handy Person) to join the dynamic Maintenance team, one to start now and the other to join in December. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager; you will assist in maintaining the building, plant, equipment, fixtures and fittings in collaboration with members of the maintenance team.
Tasks and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Preventative and reactive maintenance and repair of equipment and services.
- Respond to guests maintenance requests.
- Ensure all regulations regarding OH&S standards and safe working practices are followed.
- Regularly check & service high use/breakable features in all rooms, such as doors, window openers , television remote censors, shower screens etc
- Comply with established departmental environmental standards and assist with development of improved methods and standards for the hotel overall.
- Carry out various duties necessary to maintain hotel operations.
Successful candidate:
- Previous experience within a similar role.
- Strong communication skills.
- Positive attitude and solution orientated.
- Can work under pressure and achieve all deadlines.
- Takes pride in their work and is physically fit and capable of manual handling and lifting.
- Ability to work well within a team and trusted working autonomously.
- Flexible with shift requirements, including early mornings, evening and weekends as per our business demands.
