Better Brakes has been established in Mackay for over 60 years as a leading service provider in the mining and private sectors with a fully equipped vehicle workshop, which allows not only for brake and suspension repairs but all mechanical works. Better Brakes also has a machining and brake bonding department.

We are currently seeking a highly professional and motivated individual with underbody and mechanical experience to join our facility located in Mackay. The ideal candidate will also have experience in heavy vehicle and trailer work.

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

·  A technical understanding of air brake and suspension systems.

·  An understanding of and ability to repair trailer electrical systems

·  The ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision.

·  The ability to diagnose all types of faults, make recommendations and perform the appropriate repairs.

·  An understanding of the demands of the transport industry.

·  Capability to complete the necessary administration requirements (paperwork)

·  The ability to comply with current OHS standards and obligations.

·  Welding ability would be an advantage.

Wages will be negotiated and dependent on experience, and you will enjoy being a part of a highly supportive, friendly and rewarding team.
