We are seeking reliable and self-motivated personnel to install coaxial NBN cabling to units and commercial premises. This is a hands on site based role for an established and growing Company. Leadership skills are highly desirable to meet current and future opportunities.
The work involves;
- Bringing cable into building
- Running duct and conduit
- Cabling to individual premises
- Terminating and testing cables
- Keeping and updating records
Tasks include;
- Installation of conduit and duct (metal and plastic) - drilling into concrete and masonry
- Hauling cable- incl rod and rope
- Work on ladders
- Hand trenching and small civils – concrete cutting, dig down and repair, flushing
- Running cables, terminating (coaxial) and testing
Skills and attributes required include;
- Work as part of a 2 man team to achieve production targets
- Competent in use of power tools – grinder, drill, concrete saw
- Neat and tidy workmanship - measure and cut accurately and efficiently
- Able to work at heights and in hot and/or confined spaces – ceilings, stairwells
- Fit for work - physically fit and strong
- Command of English and good customer service skills- courteous and professional
- Work to required safety and quality standards
- Ability to read plans (highly desirable)
- Tickets in First Aid, Working at Heights, Confined Space, etc (desirable)
The work is most suited to those with electrical/ carpentry or other trades backgrounds, as well as those able to adapt and problem solve – eg handyman, good trades assistants. Exposure to TV cabling or telco is useful.
Initially work is in Hurstville and Burwood, however you must be willing to travel across south west Sydney based on operational requirements. A Company vehicle is available for team leaders.
Applicants need to be reliable, self-starting, punctual and ready to work as part of a team.
Remuneration is negotiable depending on experience – but ultimately dependent on output.
