The Position:
• Based in Acacia Ridge, Brisbane
• $38 per hour + super
• Temporary to permanent
• Mechanical background exp with truck trailers
The Company:
Our client is a leading national company who specialise in servicing and building heavy vehicle trailers. With offices throughout Australia we are looking for a Mechanic who will report to the General Manager.
The Position:
You will maintain the highest level of efficiency and commitment to the business and will also but not limited to:
• Troubleshooting and perform start ups
• All aspects of operations and maintenance for all equipment
• Maintain all equipment ready for use
• Contribute to providing workmanship to enhance reliability of equipment
• Maintain/weekly/monthly service schedules
• Carry out repairs
• Provide technical support to your customers and able to comply with safety requirement

The Person
To be successful in this position you will have:
Essential
• Relevant Trade qualification (Automotive Mechanical, and or Mechanical Fitting)
• Ability to understand schematics both hydraulic and electrical an advantage
• HR licence an advantage
• Fork Lift Licence an advantage but not essential
SELECTION CRITERIA
To be successful in this role you will;
- Have at least 3 years' experience in repairing and maintaining semi-trailers, or a like product;
- Be able to work as part of a team, with minimal supervision;
- Have the ability to diagnose faults, make recommendations and then perform repairs;
- Be confident with hand and power tools.
- Repair trailer air brake and suspension systems;
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of electrical systems & undertake basic repairs.
