About the Role
An opportunity has a risen for an experienced and qualified electrician to join our team, who are based at Melbourne Airport. You will be working for and with one our key clients, and will be responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of all equipment. You will also ensure that faults, repairs, scheduled and unscheduled are carried out in a safe and efficient manner. This is a challenging, yet rewarding role as you will be a key member of a small team who take pride in their work.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Ensure all scheduled planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks are completed on time and in a proper trades-like manner.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are logged and reported in accordance with the appropriate reporting procedure, both internal and external.
- Support and assist client operational staff and Technicians as required.
- Complete operational reporting and paperwork as required
- Troubleshoot when issues arise.
- Liaise on a daily basis with our client and key stakeholders in a professional manner.
- Any of duties as directed by the manager.
About You
- Current experience and qualifications as an A Grade Electrician, within in an automated Freight Handling System or logistics industry is essential.
- Have a strong electro-mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand mechanical assembly drawings.
- OH&S conscious and focus.
- Experience in industrial PLC controls environments.
- Experience in mechanical drives, including gearboxes, conveyor belting.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, and a basic understanding of networks and IP addressing.
- Experience with SCADA.
- A knowledge and understanding of the Materials Handling Systems (MHS).
- Demonstrated understanding of Freight operational systems.
- Experience in Pneumatics & Hydraulics including Solenoid Valves, cylinders & flow regulators
- Able to work in small crews or as an individual
Other information
- Certifications as a Registered Electrician is essential.
- Able to work shift work.
- On-site parking.
- Eligible for AISI
- Medical and Police checks are required and must be clear prior to commencement.
