A new and exciting opportunity has arisen with ALS Industrial in Perth Australia, for a suitably qualified and experienced Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PA) and Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD) Technician.
 
The key duties of this position are:

• Design and build acquisition setups;
• Set-up and calibrate equipment;
• Conduct examinations, interpret, evaluate, and document the results;
• Set-up/tear-down of equipment; perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks;
• Analysis of PAUT and TOFD Data;
• Technical reporting;
• Assisting in the preparation of procedures and other technical documents;
• May direct the work of trainees Level I, Level II and other personnel;
• Assist in the formulation of proposals following discussions with job owners and clients;
• Travel as needed to various jobsite locations both in and out of state; sometimes overseas.

About you

• Extensive experience (5+ plus years) performing advanced NDT services with documented specific training and experience in AUT, PAUT and TOFD;
• Willingness to learn other advanced techniques as and when required;
• Other NDT qualifications such as MT, PT and or RT would be desirable;
• Familiarity with the limitations of each method and ability to perform field examinations;
• Possess a valid driver's license;
• Computer literate and good report writing skills and strong grasp of English;
• Familiarity with National and International Codes, Standards and Specifications;
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment;
• Experience using Tomoview and/ or Ultravision is advantageous.
