McCormick has an excellent opportunity to join them as a Maintenance Fitter- Night Shift to execute Preventative Maintenance and Continuous Improvement Activities and Repairs.

You will take a key responsibility in supporting Efficient and Effective continuous operation by minimizing Reliability related Production downtime by attending to Breakdowns in a timely manner and executing the PM Schedule.

Expectations of you in this role will be:

The Maintenance Fitter will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is functioning efficiently and that any mechanical breakdowns are undertaken with minimal disruption to the plant. You will also be responsible for completing planned Preventative Maintenance tasks on time and to a high standard.

You will work closely with Production and Quality Leaders and ensure Maintenance, Production and Quality objectives and priorities are met and in line with GMP standards.

 

Technical, Interpersonal Competencies & Experience Required:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Extensive experience in Preventative Maintenance, Project work and Breakdown Maintenance.
  • Machining, S/S Fabrication and Welding skills (TIG, MIG, ARC)
  • Competent in Pneumatics and Hydraulics
  • Australian Recognised Trade Certificate
  • Proven Industrial Mechanical Trade experience, Food preferred
  • Previous experience with continuous high-speed processing and packaging equipment in a Food production environment
  • Team player and also able to work unsupervised

  • Disconnect / Reconnect licence an advantage.

Technical qualifications will be a minimum of a Trade Certificate and preferably at least 5 years work experience post apprenticeship. Further Qualifications will be advantageous.

This is a role for an experienced Maintenance Fitter who has had exposure to Food / FMCG environments, seeks to improve plant performance through KPI’s and adheres to OH&S procedures. Someone who takes responsibility for their own performance and that of the team and has proven problem-solving abilities.
