This role is responsible for the managing all the day to day aspects of a afternoon shift maintenance team executing the preventative maintenance schedule and responding to adhoc maintenance requests with the wider team. We are looking for someone who has proven experience of leading an engineering team or someone who is ready to take the next step in their career.
The Opportunity:
- Work in partnership with the Production and Quality teams in achieving site OGSM targets
- Delegate work appropriately to the Maintenance team, providing coaching, support and direction where required
- Ensuring all equipment is functioning efficiently and safely and that all breakdowns are undertaken with minimal disruption to the plant
- Complete planned preventative maintenance tasks on time and to a high standard
- Owner and key player in achieving the engineering department KPI’s
- Respond to calls and prioritize jobs in consultation with the Production and Quality teams
- Identify and implement continuous improvements to reduce machine downtime and improve the day to day operation of the plant
- Collate and analyze data to inform shift priorities which will be communicated at the Shift Hand Over Meetings chaired by the Leading Hand
The successful candidate will have:
- High levels of problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to plan, prioritize and communicate outcomes to ensure the team deliver on tasks
- Be a team player with the ability to work unsupervised and take responsibility for their own performance and that of the team
- Proven Industrial electrical trade experience (FMCG preferred)
- A strong Safety and Quality focus, backed by previous experience with continuous high-speed processing and packaging equipment. Pneumatic and hydraulic knowledge would be advantageous
