SunPork Farms is offering a unique opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician to join its team in the roles of Project, breakdown and preventative Maintenance.
This is a full-time position located at SunPork Farms Tong Park Piggery, a 9000-sow facility located in the Western Downs at Warra. An attractive salary that is commensurate with skills and experience with skills and experience will be offered to the successful applicant.
Reporting to the Project Manager, the responsibilities of this hands-on role include:
- Undertaking a pro-active role in fault finding and preventative maintenance
- Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical wiring, equipment and appliances
- Using hand and power tools
- Mentor and develop apprentice/s
- Maintain stock inventory levels
- Liaise with management
- Dealing with a wide range of people and conditions in an agricultural setting
- Being physically fit and able to cope with the physical demands of the role, which includes working with animals and manual handling tasks including lifting.
- Working from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
SunPork Farms has established an efficient, highly skilled yet diversified team that is dedicated to producing high quality, sustainable welfare-optimal products. As a key member of this team, the Electrician must have:
- Minimum 1+ years post trade experience on either residential or commercial projects
- A current manual car license
- Appropriate qualifications and licensing (Trade Certificate and QLD Electrical Licence)
- Excellent open communication skills
- Experience in diagnosing faults and breakdown repairs
- Ability to work autonomously, and cohesively in a team environment
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills
- Previous experience with livestock industry recommended but not essential
