 The role:

The Heavy Vehicle Fitter will undertake inspections and repairs on all underground drills and mobile equipment to ensure top performance and compliance in accordance with all of Evolution Mining’s policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Actively participate in safety initiatives (Inspections, Hazard ID, Risk assessments and PSI Meetings etc).
• Actively participate in continual improvement activities identifying opportunities and developing action plans.
• Provide safe, cost effective mechanical maintenance support to the project. This will include undertaking preventative maintenance, repairs and installation activities. The main aim of this position is to ensure all drills have high reliability and are performing to their expected ability.
• Keep 2036 UG Service Bay clean and in a safe working condition at all times.
• Drill rigs to be inspected and serviced at least once daily. Inspect the quality of these services and assist where required (ensure supervisor and cross shift supervisor are notified of any missed services).
• Complete all repairs or adjustments possible prior to end of shift, to assist oncoming shift fitter, ensure at handover all carry over work is reported to the incoming fitter and supervisor.
• Complete all assigned paperwork thoroughly, including clear and accurate descriptions of work performed.

 Are you the one?

• Trade Certificate in Diesel Fitting, Fitter/Machinist, Mechanical or similar
• Minimum of two years’ experience as an underground fitter.
• Working knowledge and experience with Tamrock and Atlas Drill Rigs will be highly regarded.
• Demonstrate positive leadership and an enthusiastic attitude to the job.
• Knowledge of hydraulic circuits and diesel engines.
• Demonstrates technical knowledge of CAT R2900, 1700 loaders, Atlas & Sandvik Haul Trucks & other auxiliary underground equipment is essential.
