We are seeking an experienced Service, Maintenance and Installation Engineer/Technician to be based in Coburg North.

As an Installation and Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the assembly, installation, service and maintenance of our clients machinery and equipment, both at the Coburg North head office, and at the customer site.

Combining your previous experience in a similar role with your desire to work and learn, you will take pride in what you do ensuring a high-quality level of work and excellent customer service.

Client Details

Our client designs and builds leading automated packaging handling systems around the world. With branches in the USA and Australia, they provide these handling systems to the global packaging industry.

Their products include Take Out Units for Blow Moulders, Palletizers and Carton Packers.

Description

Working Monday-Friday, you will be flexible around your working hours (dependant on client needs, between 7am-5:30pm and sometimes outside of these hours), and will be responsible for the following:

  • Assembly and factory testing of equipment
  • Installation and commissioning of equipment on customer site
  • Provision of technical support for all service related issues with our client's equipment in the field
  • Provision of mechanical, electrical and/or hydraulic support of our client's equipment in the field
  • Be the voice-of-the-plant in design related activities for the client's equipment
  • Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembly and installation processes
  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring projects progress, co-ordinating activities with contractors and resolving problems
  • Making an original contribution to everyday business, including suggestions for, and implementation of, streamlining and efficiency improvements
  • Supervise contractor activities on assemblies

Profile

Along with your industry related Engineering Qualification or Fitter & Turner Qualification, you will have:

  • Electrical Disconnect/Reconnect Licence
  • Strong Experience with Hydraulics & Pneumatics
  • Experience in the Installation and Maintenance of Industrial Manufacturing Equipment
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • A Strong Customer Service Focus
  • CAD/Solidworks Design Skills
  • Self-Motivated and Positive Attitude
  • Problem Solving and Trouble-Shooting Skills
  • Full working rights in Australia (PR or Citizen)

Ideally you will also be/have:

  • Computer Literate
  • Experienced in the technical support and maintenance of electronically controlled equipment
  • Be prepared for interstate and international travel, up to 2-3 weeks at a time
  • People management experience
