The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Workshop Technician (Heavy Vehicle Mobile Plant Mechanic) to join the team at our WacolBranch. Reporting to the Service Supervisor, the purpose of the role is to carry out maintenance and repairs on mining, quarry and construction equipment and ensure excellent customer service. The role plays an integral part in ensuring high levels of safety, quality and efficiency are given to the Komatsu Wacol Branch.
 
To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate an appropriate level of technical understanding of the design and function of Komatsu equipment. You will be responsible for machine diagnostics and repairs, as well as testing and adjusting of machine operation and monitoring systems utilizing relevant literature and testing equipment. Additionally work will involve participation in equipment overhauls and the use of Komatsu operating platforms to generate technical and service reports.
 
 
The knowledge, skills and abilities we're looking for
  • Relevant Trade Certificate and or heavy maintenance equipment experience
  • Current driver's license
  • Mobile equipment maintenance experience on construction, quarry and mining size earthmoving equipment.
  • Strong diagnostics / fault-finding skills
  • Working at Heights, Forklift and Dogging Tickets highly regarded
  • A proven high level of customer service
  • A demonstrated commitment to safety with the ability to work unsupervised
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and good understanding of computer systems
  • Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience, particularly with Komatsu equipment will also be highly regarded
