Toshiba Australia's Electronic Imaging Division (EID) is growing. We are expanding beyond our traditional Multi-Function Devices (MFDs) to provide our customers with innovative solutions that improve efficiency and effectiveness in their business operations.

 

Our opportunity

We have an opportunity for a Technical Specialist to join the Sydney team. Reporting to the National Technical Support Manager, you will be responsible to provide technical support, documentation and training for direct & dealer service staff.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provision of technical support for our multi-functional and printing devices
  • Testing, replication, investigation and resolution of reported technical issues
  • Liaison with our parent company in Japan to escalate issues reported from the field, and the provision of information regarding product performance in the market
  • Creation of supporting material and subsequent delivery of technical training courses to direct and dealer markets (domestic and overseas) as required
  • Creation, control and distribution of technical documentation for use by field based service staff
  • Contribution to "service readiness" activities associated with the release and launch of new products into the market
  • Liaison with 3rd Party vendors and providers as necessary in order to ensure, for example, that products are correctly certified for use
  • Maintenance and control of head office technical support functions including, but not limited to;
    • Warranty systems
    • Information provided on the company's technical support website(s)
    • Product compliance, approval and certification
    • Product testing

 

Our requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to work effectively with customers and Toshiba team members across multiple departments and at various levels.  Therefore, sound interpersonal skills, strong customer service orientation and a commitment to the Toshiba Values will ensure success.

 

Skills and experience required:

  • Minimum of 5 years field service experience with the repair and maintenance of multi-functional and printing devices. (Experience with Toshiba products is valued)
  • Experience in the delivery of formal classroom training
  • Highly developed diagnostic skills
  • Intermediate MS Office skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Current driver's license
