QAR is thrilled to be working alongside our client in FMCG that is looking to expand their maintenance team and appoint an Afternoon Shift Maintenance Fitter to their team, on the Southside of Melbourne. Our client has a strong emphasis on culture and team fit, and of course the ability to have fun on the job, whilst also working in a safe and quality focused environment.
This role suits a team player who understands the need to be flexible with working hours when required, and who understands that when something in production goes wrong – it is all hands on deck!
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter who has previous exposure to working in a variety of environments which can include, automotive, food, pharmaceutical, tobacco or similar industries that run a fast paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, modify and maintain complex machinery and equipment
- Carry out all general types of welding
- Examine, diagnose and repair systems used to operate electro/ mechanical, electro/hydraulics, electro/pneumatic production plant
- Perform general machining operations required for maintenance duties
- Carry out all general engineering maintenance functions
To be successful in the role you will need to demonstrate:
- A relevant trade certification / general engineering class certification
- Previous experience working as a Maintenance Fitter past apprentice level
- Experience in either automotive, food, pharmaceutical or consumer products industry
- The ability to work in a small team and be flexible with working hours (which includes a Saturday morning)
- The ability to read and understand pneumatics and hydraulic principals
- Welding experience
- An Electrical D-licence would be an advantage however this is not essential
- A desire to continue to learn and develop within the role and invest in personal development
