About the Job

The role is critical to providing a safe and welcoming environment for residents, employees and visitors of the facility.

Reporting to the Facility and Site Managers, this role is responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance, and property service across our aged care homes and grounds. In addition, this role will also provide regional leadership of maintenance services across NSW Central Coast.

The Maintenance Supervisor will act as a point of contact for external contractors and suppliers for maintenance/repair issues as well as for residents and their families during the admission process, and is responsible for ensuring that the facility is maintained to the highest standards in line with Aurrum's 'gold standard' of care.

The position is based at Aurrum Erina for three (3) days per week, and will drive best practice maintenance services management and site compliance at other aged care homes within the NSW region for two (2) days per week. 

Duties of the role include:

  • Assess, organise and arrange procurement for NSW facilities
  • Ensure that all maintenance, documentation, log books and records are fully maintained and up to date. 
  • Maintain records of external contractors
  • Monitor the quality of work carried out by contractors and related service providers
  • Undertake minor property works and repairs in a timely and cost effective manner
  • Undertake preventative maintenance according to schedule
  • Ensure compliance with work, health and safety legislation and standards

 About You

As the ideal candidate, you will meet the following criteria:

  • Trades based qualification and extensive prior experience in a field such as plumbing, carpentry or electrical work.
  • Working knowledge of work health and safety standards in New South Wales and the compliance regime of residential aged care
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated commitment to customer focussed services  
  • Appreciation and respect for working with the elderly and people from diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work under minimal supervision
  • Intermediate computer literacy, comfortable using MS Office suite of programs
  • Current and valid Police Check
  • Current NSW Driver's license with regular travel to other aged care homes within the NSW Central Coast region required
