Heavy Road Transport Mechanic - Orange
THE ROLE
JR Richards & Sons is seeking to employ a Trade Qualified Heavy Road Transport Mechanic to work on side loader trucks and tankers at our workshop at Orange, NSW.
This is a 40 hour week, full time position, with hours being Monday to Friday plus overtime when needed. No weekend work or call outs.
The role reports to the Workshop Manager and will be required to perform mechanical repairs and servicing of heavy vehicles including:
- Conducting all facets of preventative maintenance and repair of heavy rigid vehicles including brakes, steering, suspension, hydraulics and fabrication
- Ensuring the fleet is maintained to, and in compliance with, Fleet Management Standards, with an emphasis on safety
- Possible supervision and direction of an apprentice (as required)
- Compliance with the company's Integrated Management System (IMS) relating to workshop/fleet operations
- Onsite checks and breakdowns
THE CANDIDATE
- Must be Trade Qualified in the repair and maintenance of heavy commercial vehicles with at least 3 years' experience with on road trucks
- Be an exceptional communicator who possesses a genuine desire to be a team player
- Exceptional eye for detail
- Understanding of computer systems
- Ability to diagnose and repair defects
- Side loader and Iveco Acco experience would be an advantage
- Hydraulic and electrical experience would be an advantage
- Be subject to a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol testing
- Must have own transport and licence.
