We are currently seeking a positive and enthusiastic Radio Communications Technician to join our team at our Newcastle / Hunter Valley operations .
This position is based in Thornton (30 mins from the Hunter Valley, 20 mins from Newcastle CBD), however you will need to be flexible to travel between different mine sites and work weekends when required.
Familiarity with the NSW mining industry would be an advantage and your commitment to Safety and Quality will be paramount.
The successful applicant will possess a Communications trade qualification with a minimum of 2 years' experience in the following;
- Experience in surface and underground communications networks
- Knowledge and experience in RFID Technologies
- Leaky Feeder Radio systems
- Experience in maintaining underground radio - UHF and VHF 2-way Radio Technologies
- Telemetry
The following key attributes will also be required :
- An ability to be self-managed, resourceful and persistent.
- Drive, determination and a logical approach to ensure servicing is conducted in an efficient and safe manner.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- A current driver's licence and the ability to travel as required.
