San Remo is a market leader in pasta and food manufacturing providing high quality food products to local and overseas customers. The Company remains wholly Australian owned with our major manufacturing site based in Windsor Gardens.
About the role:
We currently have a number of automated packing machines in need of full refurbishment. In this role, you will be responsible for the refurbishment, ensuring that it is completed on time and to a high standard. The position is offered on a casual basis for the duration of the project, which is expected to last between 6 and 12 months. You will take control of the project and work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair or replacement of pneumatic systems
- Servicing or replacing bearings and bushes,
- Servicing drive systems
- Servicing motors and gearboxes
- Implementing new modifications like safety guards or developing process improvements
Essential skills and experience:
- Highly proficient in pnuematics;
- Solid experience with motors, belt drives, chain drives and gearboxes;
- Experience working with hydraulics and steam boilers;
- FMCG or manufacturing experience;
- Demonstrated fault finding and rectification skills with complex automated packaging machinery
- General involvement in the installation, commissioning and maintenance of machinery;
- The ability to work independently and be accountable for your personal results
- A real sense of urgency and understanding of balancing immediate operational needs against long term solutions.
- A restricted electrical licence ("B-Class / NREL") is highly advantageous, but not essential.
