There is now an exciting opportunity for a Customer Support Technician to join the Regional Service Centres team in Bibra Lake on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Customer Support Technician (CST) is responsible for ensuring that RME assets at customer sites operate in a fast, reliable and safe manner.

The CST is a key point of contact for service requests and is responsible for the efficient commissioning, maintenance and training of customer mine site personnel on the RME suite of technologies. The recommendation of spare parts, provision of condition reports and consultation with the customer on asset maintenance is an integral part of this role.

The CST will also participate in training and motivation opportunities provided to all RME personnel.

International and domestic travel is required, with the expectation that a range of negotiated site travel days will be achieved. The range envisaged is somewhere between 135 to 180 days per year spent travelling to, working on and travelling from customer sites. You may also be required to support international customers outside of conventional business hours.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

REQUIRED

  1. Certificate III in an Electrical and / or Mechanical trade (e.g. Electrotechnology, Fitter & Turner, Diesel Mechanic, Motor Mechanic) or similar trade qualification
  2. Electrical and / or mechanical aptitude with at least 2 years’ experience in manufacturing, mechanical, mining or related industry
  3. Well-developed written and spoken communication and presentation skills
  4. An ability to generate rapport quickly, establish good working relationships and to understand, interpret and respond clearly to others
  5. An outgoing personality that allows the individual to confidently make contact by telephone and conduct personal meetings with people not previously known
  6. Effective time management and organisational skills
  7. Attention to detail with respect to paperwork processing
  8. Well-developed IT skills, particularly in the use of Microsoft Office
  9. The ability to undergo and satisfy all site requirements including, but not limited to site medicals and police clearances

DESIRABLE

  1. Dual trade Certificate III in Electrotechnology Systems – Electrician, Certificate III – Engineering (Diesel Mechanic, Mechanical Fitter & Turner, Motor Mechanic) or similar trade qualification
  2. Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or the ability to obtain
  3. Single-phase and three-phase, low and extra-low voltage experience
  4. Knowledge of and a wide range of contacts within the hard rock mining industry
  5. Knowledge of and experience with the maintenance programs of grinding mills, in particular relining

LICENCES

  • Possession of a current Open Driver’s Licence (required)
  • Possession of an unrestricted international Driver’s Licence (required)
  • Possession of a valid passport enabling travel without any restrictions (required)
