ABOUT THE ROLE

The Whiddon Group is a large not for profit aged care organisation with services throughout NSW. We provide residential, community and independent living options to over 2000 clients across NSW and QLD. With 70 years of experience, we're well established with a fantastic record of providing quality client care.

A wonderful opportunity has become available at our Narrabri, Jessie Hunt Service for an experienced Maintenance Officer to join the team 64 hours per fortnight. The Maintenance Officer is responsible for the effective coordination of maintenance services for the facility.

YOUR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, your will be responsible for:

  • Maintenance services such as repairing items within scope of skills and knowledge;
  • Gardening – including the weeding and watering of gardens;
  • Developing planned maintenance schedules and conducting audits;
  • Coordination of contractors and services;
  • Supporting Building Services by following building services procedures and requirements;
  • Handy person services such as cleaning external areas such as paths, cob webbing, garbage collection and disposal, and general tasks such as changing light bulbs or batteries;
  • Completing administrative aspects of the role including but not limited to the completion of planned maintenance schedules, Maintenance Logs/Reports, and other documentation such as Accident Incident Reports.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task;
  • Current drivers licence;
  • Introductory computer skills;
  • Electrical Testing and Tagging certificate (desirable);
  • Bus licence (desirable);
  • Previous experience providing maintenance or trade services (desirable);
  • Trade Certificate or VETAB accredited Certificate III  or working towards in relevant area (desirable);
  • The right to work in Australia.
